SkyLink Design Announces the Release of Slate 2.0 in Collaboration with Sprint/Nextel
July 23, 2007
Santa Clara, CA – SkyLink Design announces the availability of Slate™ 2.0 as part of their Sprint/Nextel Pilot Program.
SkyLink Design and Sprint/Nextel have collaborated to develop the Slate™ Platform – a complete hardware/software solution for the automated testing and trusted certification of handsets and equipment for the Sprint/Nextel network.
Slate 2.0 enables carriers, handset manufacturers, network equipment manufacturers, test houses and mobile application developers to work together in a collaborative automated testing and certification environment.
Based on the Slate™ Platform, certified test suites developed by Sprint/Nextel are seamlessly shared with equipment manufacturers who can leverage these certified tests inside their lab environments – effectively mirroring the carrier test environment and enabling submission of certified test results to Sprint/Nextel with their handset or equipment submissions.
Sprint/Nextel’s Ben Bellinder, Director of CEC states that “Sprint is moving forward with our commitment to the Slate™ automation platform. Slate™ will improve the end to end device certification process with our handset vendors. By leveraging Slate™, equipment manufacturers and Sprint/Nextel will reduce time to market, reduce internal costs, and increase product quality all at the same time.” Sprint/Nextel has given Slate™ a strong endorsement and is asking all of its handset manufacturers to transition to Slate™ by the end of 2008.
Slate 2.0 is being made available to a limited number of Sprint/Nextel equipment manufactures as part of our 2007 Pilot Program. Availability to the entire Sprint/Nextel ecosystem will commence in Q1 2008.
